US Travel Unit Converter
Mobile (iOS) app design

About the Project
New iOS mobile application focused on seamless conversion between imperial and metric values, catering to both directions of the conversion process.
Duration: 2 months (Oct – Nov. 2023).
- Location - Austin, TX.
- Role - UX/UI Designer.
- Tools - Figma, Illustrator.
Challenges
Individuals arriving in the USA from other countries often face the challenge of adapting to a different unit measurement system. Instead of Celsius, there’s a need to navigate Fahrenheit; meters are swapped for feet, and milliliters for fl ounces, among other changes.
Many available applications for these conversions were either overly complex or inconvenient. As a recent immigrant and primary user, I took on the task of developing a solution with enthusiasm.
Main Screen Functionality
My goal was to put the following on one main screen:
- List of different measurement systems.
- Lines with calculated data.
- All types of calculus translated from empirical to metric.
- Digit input.
- Space for advertising.

Dark and Light Modes
For this app, I chose colors that are associated with travel, namely blue and purple. I also checked that the combination of background and accent colors was in accordance with the color contrast checker.

Branding and UI System
In the logo, my aim was to convey two concepts seamlessly: the conversion of fundamental empirical/metric values and the essence of travel.
